this project was for a new master bed/bath in the attic of an existing structure. facing the backyard, the clients asked if we could do something "unexpected", a "surprise" when you come into the backyard. we are currently exploring the idea of a  cube emerging from their existing roof. other design intentions include maximization of light without heat gain, and making the attic space feel connected to the rest of the house.
